About Gabi Myst
How It All Started
I didn’t set out to be a musician. My background is actually in web design, so I’ve always lived at the intersection of graphics and code. While I never considered myself a songwriter, I’ve been a poet for as long as I can remember. I even started singing at a very young age, but the "star" lifestyle never appealed to me—I didn't feel my voice had that "star quality," and frankly, I didn't want to own that kind of life.
Being a fan of "nerdy tech," my curiosity was piqued one day during a conversation with a friend about AI music generation. I thought, "Why not?" and dropped one of my poems into the lyric slot. When it produced something halfway decent, I was hooked. "Wow! This is fun!" I thought.
Suddenly, lyrics and melodies started flying into my head. Before I knew it, I was directing AI to produce some pretty freaking good songs based on my writing. At the urging of people I know, I decided to protect my work. Through that same friend, I discovered I could actually get my music distributed—and here we are.
With a "Little Help From My Friends" (lol), I’ve hit the ground running. My mission now is to take these lyrical stories out of my head and put them into the world for everyone to hopefully enjoy.
The "AI Director" Reality Check
I’ve watched countless videos on YouTube about "How to Start Your Own AI Channel," and there is one major thing they never tell you: AI isn't as easy as people think. Sure, you can tell an engine to "draw a mountain scene with a beautiful lake running down the middle," and it might do a pretty good job. But when it comes to specific, cinematic storytelling, AI is incredibly finicky. In most ways, it’s still very experimental. While the technology is getting better faster than you can find the perfect mattress, it’s still not the "one-click" solution some make it seem.
Then there is the reality of the cost. High-level AI is expensive. If you want to create massive, professional-grade projects that don't look like generic "AI art," it’s going to cost you some moolah. My role as an AI Director is to navigate that cost and those technical "glitches" to ensure the final result is a seamless piece of art that actually honors the heart of my songwriting.
